This cable is for those who want to use the C64 for musical uses and want to minimize the amount of cable visible on the table.
You can use this cable with FM YAM or similar cartridges if you do not use the standard video port of the C64 for outputting video (there is also the composite port and more and more people have installed an improved s-video solution or breakout adapter with pass-through port, or maybe you do not need video output at all in certain situations).

The extra short cable plugs into your C64 video port and your FM YAM or headphones.
