The German magazine CHIP celebrates the C64’s 30th birthday with a CHIP special edition, available from the 21st of June, 2012. Happy Birthday, Commodore 64! Numerous authorscontributed – including Anatol Locker, Heinrich Lenhardt, Elmar Friebe, Ralf Sablowski, Frank Erstling, Milo Mundt and Winnie Forster (all of which are editors of old or recent C64 literature likemagazines and books). They report on the C64’s history from the beginning up to today, share hints and instructions. A DVD with 25 games, 20 demos and some videos completes the package; but the highlight is clearly the 10 CHIP special edition mags from back then! Den 30jährigen Geburtstag des Commodore 64 feiert die CHIP mit einer CHIP Spezial Sonderausgabe, welche am 21.6.2012 erscheinen wird – Happy Birthday Commodore 64. Zahlreiche Autoren konnten für die Erstellung gewonnen werden – ua. Anatol Locker, Heinrich Lenhardt, Elmar Friebe, Ralf Sablowski, Frank Erstling, Milo Mundt und Winnie Forster (allesamt Redakteure alter, aber auch neuer C64er Magazine oder Bücher) – diese berichten aus der CEVI Historie bis zum heutigen Tage, geben Tips und Anleitungen zum Besten. As you should know from the last newsletter, we are working very diligently behind the scenes and try new ways in order to make a better and more modern Protovision – you are allowed to continue to be excited about what we will do in the future on projects. Fortunately, in the mean time we have found new dedicated, but also freelance Members who support us and have assumed their new duties already. Trixter will do the News processing and dissemination, and takes worry about Facebook (among other tasks, but these are probably the most evident) and nyquist will care about Twitter. There are also other new assistants being considered. As soon as their tasks are taken, we will report soon in more detail about them … |

In the light of the new restructuring in Protovision we have decided to be active on the most pertinent social network services to spread our news even faster and to offer a new form of contact and information sharing. Currently these services are indeed already set up and accessible, but still under construction – much content is at the moment in german language only – but we are working on the translation. Feel free to subscribe and maybe click on the „Like“ Button – and don´t forget to visit it from time to time.

Scene news: New Album from PRESS PLAY ON TAPE

The Commodore 64 Revival Band – PRESS PLAY ON TAPE – publishes a new album called „Home Computer“ on 12 May 2012. On the double album are about 25 songs with a total running time of 2 hours. Neue Protovisionmitstreiter

Wie ihr aus dem letzten Newsletter erfahren konntet, werkeln wir recht fleißig hinter den Kulissen und probieren neue Wege aus um Protovision besser und moderner zu machen – ihr dürft weiterhin gespannt sein, was wir in Zukunft noch so alles vorhaben und umsetzen werden. Erfreulicherweise haben zwischenzeitlich neue feste, aber auch freie Mitarbeiter gefunden, die uns tatkräftig unterstützen und auch ihre neuen Aufgaben schon übernommen haben. So wird sich zukünftig unser Trixter um die Newsverarbeitung und verbreitung sowie um Facebook kümmern (neben anderen Aufgaben, aber diese sind wohl die Offensichtlichsten) und nyquist um Twitter. Es sind aber auch noch weitere neue Helfer angedacht, sobald diese ihre Aufgabenübernommen haben, werden wir ausführlicher darüber berichten… |

Im Zeichen der neuen Umstrukturierung bei Protovision haben wir uns dazu entschlossen, auch bei den einschlägigsten Socialnetworkdiensten vertreten zu sein und somit noch schneller und noch weiter unsere Neuigkeiten zu verbreiten, bzw. eine neue Form der Kontaktaufnahme und Information zu bieten. Aktuell sind diese Angebote zwar schon eingerichtet und erreichbar,aber noch im Aufbau – behaltet das Ganze einfach mal im Auge, abonniert oder „mögt uns“ und schaut zukünftig einfach immer mal wieder vorbei.

Protovision Demo „The True Story of Batman“

Auf der BCC-Party #6 in Berlin hat Tim Jakob „JTR“ Chen-Voos eine Demo Namens „The True Story of Batman / Protovision & DMAgic“ veröffentlicht und in der Mixed-Compo Platz 2 erreicht. Die Demo ist eine Hommage an Milo „MacGyver“ Mundt. Milo war jahrelang eine treibende Kraft hinter Protovision. Durch sein Organisatorisches Talent und seine Kontaktfreudigkeit war er für viele von euch Mr.Protovison. 🙂 Milo widmet sich nun primär seiner Weiterbildung, bleibt der C64er Szene aber weiterhin erhalten. |

Protovision Demo „The True Story of Batman“

At the BCC Party #6 in Berlin, Tim Jakob „JTR“ Chen-Voos scored second place in the mixed compo with the demo „The True Story of Batman / Protovision & DMAgic„. The demo is a hommage to Milo „MacGyver“ Mundt, who was a driving force behind Protovision for many years. His planning skills and sociableness made him „Mr Protovision“ for many of you. 🙂 Milo stepped back in Protovision to focus on his education & worklife now, but will remain part of the C64 scene.
