Another update of HVSC has been released and now contains 49,542 SID files.

The High Voltage SID Collection (HVSC) is a freeware hobby project that organizes Commodore 64 music (also known as SID music) into an archive for both musicians and fans alike.

This time the HVSC crew added 600 new (!) SID tunes to the collection, including new songs from our composers Joachim Wijnhoven (aka Yogibear), our veteran composer Jan D. Arent Harries (aka SIDWAVE, who is composing music for the C64 since 1986) and Roy J. Widding (aka Rotteroy):

Our entry to the Reset 2016 C64 4kb Game Coding Competition has ended up 3rd in the compo, despite really hard competition this year! Yeah! We also congratulate Pond Software Ltd. for the really nice entries they had.

A new C64 role playing game is in the making. It was launched into a Kickstarter project and has already collected an impressive amount of money for it! We have of course backed the project already and wish Stirring Dragon Games all the best with their effort!

Just like Knights of Bytes with Sam’s Journey, they have been working fulltime on the project.

Our fellow distributors over at Psytronik have released a huge amount of games lately, so we testplayed them for you.

Hessian:
Covert BitOps new game reminds of the brilliant Metal Warrior series and is a supernice game that we wholeheartedly recommend to you.

Super Carling the Spider:
You can see that this Vic-20 game conversion was made with a lot of heart. Thumbs up for the impressive one man show. The music is fabulous and the game itself is slick to play.

Eye of the Gods:
Quite a good game, actually. You wander through a dungeon finding power ups that give you new powers for reaching previously inaccessible parts of the game.

Barnsley Badger:
Fun to play. The game concept and also the steering are easy to get into. No unfair moments! The game feels huge.

Maze of the Mummy:
This one stands out as it has a very unusual and clever game concept to it. It is not an action game, you have to solve labyrinths. It is not an original, though, but a conversion of the PopCap game „Mummy Maze“.

My Life:
Well made, nice gfx, but we were not good enough. We did not pass the first level and found it highly frustrating to play. Therefore, an accurate simulation of life.

Honey Bee:
A simple „avoid and collect“ game with music from our very own Joachim „Yogibear“ Wijnhoven.

Another good news is that Protovision and Psytronik want to cooperate more in the future. Maybe we can offer you a selection of the best Psytronik games in our shop soon.

The well-known collection of SIDs (Commodore 64 music) „HVSC“ is celebrating its 20 years anniversary this year with an anniversary release music disk. We congratulate them for 20 years of dedication and deep love for the famous Commodore 64 sound chip!

There is also good news for SID lovers owning a Mac!
SIDPLAY for Mac OS X is available with Retina Support and macOS Sierra support.

RGCD has released an updated version of Tiger Claw as a paid download (a cartridge version was only available in combination with a kickstarter campaign).

Tiger Claw is a nifty little „beat and run“ game with a very complex and subtle steering to it.

And: the new version has a „versus“ mode that lets 4 fearless gamers compete against
each other – naturally with support for our 4 Player Interface!
