The C64 (and other 8 bitters) have tiny RAM chips onboard that can be replaced by Saruman-64. It is not only a drop-in replacement, though, it also fixes one of the oldest hardware issues of a C64: the VSP-bug.

The VSP-bug occasionally leads to crashes if programming techniques are used where the video chip has to shuffle a lot of data around in a short time (e.g. our game Jim Slim in Dragonland and also Creatures use  this technique).
