Review:

Sam's Journey is a fantastic game and without doubt one of the top platform games on the Commodore 64, together with The Great Giana Sisters and Mayhem in Monsterland.

I like the smooth game-play and the way some Nintendo-like features were included, like checkpoint flags, secret passages and overworld maps.

Also there are great 'puzzles' to solve that involve switches and using the powers of a specific costume. Really great stuff!!

The level music however, I don't like at all. I would describe the music as 'hysterical' and it really gets on my nerves after playing for more then two minutes. Just compare the music with that from The Great Giana Sisters, and you'll know what I mean. To bad there is no way to turn off the music but keep the sound effects.

All things considered, this game is a must-have for Commodore fans!
