abgepudert.de (a german „magazine for extended design of leisure time“) has published a comprehensive interview with our Jakob (JTR). Learn about the C64, Protovision and Jake’s own perspective:
chip.de’s german article „Auf dem Index: Die frühen Pixel-Schlachten“ („Indexed Games: The Early Pixel Battles“) mentions Protovision – albeit not in the context of the article’s main focus (violent games), but as a source for new and fresh C64 games.
The German language article „Deutsche zocken wieder auf alten Kult-Computern“ (Germans rediscover their retro computers), published on the website of newspaper „Die Welt„, mentions both Protovision and our Jake (JTR), who (very briefly) explains what „emulator“ means. 😉
News for our press section: Tim Jakob Chen-Voos (aka JTR) twaddles (in the Disk Magazine Scene World #21) amongst other things about his beginnings in the C64 scene, how he tried to write his first assembler programs on paper and without a computer, about Pac It and other upcoming Protovision games as well as about DMAgic.
The Spanish language Commodore Plus website has taken a close look at our jump’n’runs It’s Magic and It’s Magic 2. If you speak Spanish, go and read it! Maybe a good opportunity to check out our press section. If you know of any other reviews or articles about Protovision and our games, please let us know through our contact form. We would love to complete our collection.
In the current issue of the German diskmag Digital Talk you will find another review of Jim Slim. The disk image is available as a free download. Please note that this test is only available in German language.
Jim Slim as Decoration at "Rheinzeit" from center.tv Cologne
In a seven-minutes segment of the German local TV programme center.tv to the Commodore 64, the editor of the German retro magazine RETURN Frank Erstling talks about old times, the magazine, but also new stuff. Between some C64 hard- and software you will find our newest game Jim Slim as decoration.
Those who missed the show can see it now on YouTube – unfortunately the quality of the clip is not the best.
We gave our website a facelift. A new addition is the press section where you can find many game reviews, interviews etc. We have also made some optical and structural improvements. Have fun looking around!
C64 games are not necessarily the subject of the German language gamers blog truegamer.de.
Nonetheless, blogger Flow has dedicated a retro feature to Protovision under the slogan „The country needs new C64 games“, in which he introduces Protovision and describes some selected games. Thank you for this!
The scene gives us two diskmags released on the same day:
In Scene World #17 the chapter „Game News“ features some facts on Protovision’s game projects. However, due to the issue being massively delayed, the chapter’s content is around one year old. Anyway, welcome back, Scene World!
Vandalism News #57 again offers a „Mini-Market“, an actually quite big chapter about new developments on C64 games and hardware. In there, Hoild explains some reasons about the delay of Ultimate Newcomer, and reveals some details about the massive amount of work that went into it.
In the Opinion Poll chapters you can read people’s thoughts about the „Gaming Renaissance“ on C64.
Last but not least, some Protovision titles are in the Game Charts.
The good news about the release of Jim Slim has already been published by a number of websites.
We are especially pleased about the news in the latest issue of the famous consoles magazine M! Games.
Issue 18 of Retro Hunter Show by Sven Vößing contains a video review.
Thorben Rumb has also released a short review at gamgea.com.
In addition, H.T.W has dedicated an article to the game in the German C64-Wiki.
If you understand German, have a look!

GamePro reports about homebrew developing labels, including Protovision
14.10.2010
The German language console mag "GamePro" published an article entitled "Neue Spiele auf alten Konsolen" ("New games on old consoles") in their current issue (10/2010). This report is about homebrew developing labels.
You will find information on game projects from Protovision and Psytronik for the C64, next to interviews with Milo Mundt (MacGyver) from Protovision and Jason Mackenzie (Kenz) from Psytronik Software. The third in the row is Brandon Cobb from Super Fighter Team, who has some bits to tell about their productions for Sega Mega Drive und Atari Lynx.
Oliver Foerster (Poison) created an excellent trailer for our jump’n’run hit It’s Magic 2 by Stardust Productions. It was part of the trailer show „Neue Spiele auf alten Konsolen“ („New games on old consoles“), published in the German language consoles mag „GamePro“ on the cover DVD of the current issue (10/2010).
