NEWS FROM THE C64 SCENE: Open Air C64 Event: ATWOODS – admission free!

On August 11th and 12th there will be an open air C64 camping party in Salzgitter, Germany. This will be more of a heart warming get together around the barbecue, than around hardware. Nevertheless, there will be a projector, a demo- and game compo and a shuttle service to the party.

The new cartridge format GMod2 that was introduced with Sam’s Journey is now also being supported by the emulator micro64 by Farbrausch (in addition to VICE).

A new multiplayer network game for C64 was released!
Rogue Multiplayer is a roguelike game where all current players share one dungeon.
It supports RR-Net, FB-Net und 64NIC+.

A new C64 game with an entirely unique play style has been released (as download only) by Cogitare Computing. Each of the 12 (tricky!) levels of the game are completely different. There’s a trick to every level for you to figure out. We feel that Counterweight Kate is worth every bit of it’s small price of 1 dollar.

NEWS FROM THE C64 SCENE: Steel Ranger / Pains’n’Aches

Two great new games are now available from Psytronik for preordering, however the digital version of the games are supplied directly.

Steel Ranger is Covert BitOps‘ new shooting action game. As usual with CO, it comes with a well scripted storyline and cunning game design.

 

Pains’n’Aches is a sequel to Knight’n’Grail and also feels similar in gameplay. It has a minimalistic style and is story driven as well.

Our friends over at RGCD have released LuftrauserZ,
Paul Koller’s latest C64 demake.

The game features quite stunning air battles with clever trickery to produce a very smooth and fast all directional scrolling and supernice generated clouds in between mischievous enemy airplanes.

Argus is now available at Psytronik.
The game has an interesting design and user interface as you step through a fake 3D world.
Sadly, the collectable items are not explained in the manual.

Also available now is the brilliant C16 & C64 game Slipstream.
It also introduced new boxes from Psytronik – now they also have fully printed carboard boxes.

 

 

 

 

 

 




NEWS FROM THE C64 SCENE: Thalamus Hunter’s Moon Remastered: funded!
08.11.2017

Thalamus is really back in business!

Their first Kickstarter project – Hunter’s Moon Remastered – has been a great success!

As numerous stretch goals were reached – including new types of levels, a new intro/outro sequence and an illustrated manual – the game will not be released in Febuary as initially planned, but it will take a bit more time to complete all the extras.

Protovision is the official and exclusive after sales partner of Thalamus, so if you missed out on the Kickstarter, don’t worry!

You will be able to buy Hunter’s Moon from the Protovision shop in the future.




New 8-bit game on Kickstarter: Nogalious The Chronicles

Nogalious The Chronicles is an ambitious action game project for multiple platforms, including the C64, MSX, Spectrum and CPC.
The game is currently available on cassette, cartridge or in digital format for the Commodore C64.

Our friends at RGCD, Psytronik, Poly.Play and Pond Software have been actively releasing new games for the C64:

RGCD has released and restocked…

  • Moonspire, a solid and recommendable action game.

Psytronik have released…

Poly.Play have released…

  • Trap Them: an interesting puzzler with unique ideas, however with extremely long loading times.
  • Race+: an 8 player racing game that can be bought along with an 8 player adapter for SNES/Super Famicom Joypads. Or you can play it with 4 players and OUR 4 Player Interface!
    The music is from our musician SIDWAVE.
